Our Farmers

Kari

Kari is a native New Englander.  She is on the farm full time and oversees all operations at MCF.    She is the detail fanatic and the nit-picker.  Kari attended UVM where she studied art and botany.  She then worked for years for a non-profit organization deconstructing buildings for architectural salvage.  Then, worked on the Long Trail repairing back country shelters and doing trail work.  Moved to New Mexico and farmed there for a while.  Then, farmed and sugared in Enosburg and from there found her way to Mud City.  She would much rather use a shovel over a tractor.  Her other favorite places besides the wondrous northern Green Mountains are the desert and the ocean.

Christopher.png

Christopher

Christopher originally hails from northern Michigan as far as we’re told.  He is often off the farm performing an absurd amount of other jobs.  You can usually find him digging somewhere.  He has great big picture vision, is strong as an ox, very handsome, could have been a pro rugby player and is nasty on skis.  Prior to Mud City life, he went to school in VA.  Then, was a NOLS instructor in Chile, Alaska and Mexico.  Worked on ski patrol while also logging in northern VT.  He also worked on backcountry shelters on the Long Trail where he and Kari first met.  They didn’t like each other very much, then they did.  The rest is history.

Kalie

Kalie, a Vermont native is a farmer by summer, crafter by winter.  She is always up for any task and performs them all with mirth and ease.  She takes on the wash/pack station like nobody’s business.  She graduated form Evergreen College in the Pacific Northwest.  She is good at journaling each morning and not good in large groups of people.  She is all about fringe and rhinestones and wlvb will definitely be on the radio dial in truckie.
